MIGRANT STUDENTS UNITED AT SFU

United We Are Stronger

Keep Your Promise, Trudeau

Thousands march for Status for All across so-called Canada.

Take Action!

No Fees In Universal Healtcare:

Eliminate The International Student Health Fee!

The International Student Health Fee (ISHF) is unjust and imposes financial, social, and administrative burden in the British Columbia (BC) healthcare system.

We demand concrete and meaningful action to eliminate the exclusive, unfair, and expensive International Students Health Fee.

The principle of universality of the Canada Health Act requires that “all residents of a province or territory be entitled, on uniform terms and conditions, to the publicly funded health services covered by provincial/territorial plans.” The ISHF is a clear violation of this principle.

No fees should be required for “Universal HealthCare”!

Sign the PR Campaign Petition

Migrant students bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, values and economic contribution to the Canadian community. Despite these contributions to Canadian society, migrant students face numerous obstacles in pursuit of their degrees, careers and permanent residency (PR). The unjust Study Permit, Work Permit and PR rules have resulted in an exploitative and problematic system that requires fundamental changes to put an end to everyday violation of migrant students’ human and labour rights.

Tabling at SFU Burnaby to launch the PR campaign

On March 17th, 2022, we came together in SFU Burnaby Convocation Mall to launch the Permanent Residency Campaign, in which we highlight the unfair rules for international students’ permanent residency process and urge the federal government to change these restrictive and unjust policies. PR campaign demands include addressing current issues with study and work permits:
